Milling machine dolly
So… I was in a bit of a predicament when i moved from my cozy shop in Oshawa Ontario to my new shop in Pontypool. It’s a bit of a long story but I needed a dolly to move my mill around. It needed to roll easy, stay permanently on the mill so I didn’t need to store it, be cheep, and look cool.
I used scrap metal from some old side jobs, some large diameter wheels from princess auto (that were on sale) and a little bit of modeling in Fusion 360. I 3D printed the cut out template for the wheels and after that was done i just went to town and started fabricating.
Wheel with Cut Out
It worked great! it rolled over big cracks, lumps and bumps in my driveway, and looked good doing it. The only things I need to do now is make it sit off the wheels and have some leveling feet.
